LVP Installation in Park City
The Smarter Floor for a Mountain Vacation Home
Park City homeowners face a real flooring dilemma. You want something that looks as good as the home. But hardwood in a vacation property is a maintenance headache. Mountain altitude means extremely dry winters. A home that sits empty for weeks at a time with the heat turned down will gap and cup solid hardwood, no matter how well it was installed. Humidity management is constant work, even when no one's there to do it.
LVP solves this. No humidity requirements. Completely waterproof. Ski boots, wet gear, and snow melt tracked in from the slopes do nothing to it. Premium SPC rigid-core products handle the temperature swings of an unoccupied mountain home, hold up to vacation rental traffic for years without refinishing, and look exceptional in listing photos. Pine River installs throughout Park City, Deer Valley, Kimball Junction, Heber City, and Midway.

Common Questions
LVP Flooring FAQ: Park City & Summit County
Yes. Pine River Construction installs LVP throughout Park City, Deer Valley, Kimball Junction, Jeremy Ranch, Promontory, Heber City, and Midway. We provide free in-home estimates and handle the complete installation from subfloor prep to final cleanup.
Hardwood requires consistent indoor humidity (35 to 50 percent RH) to stay stable. At Park City's altitude, winter air is extremely dry, and a home that sits vacant between guests will drop well below that range unless someone is actively managing a humidifier. Solid hardwood will gap, cup, or even crack in those conditions. LVP has no humidity requirements, is completely waterproof, and handles mountain climate without any intervention. It's genuinely the lower-risk floor for a property you're not in every week.
Standard LVP can expand and contract significantly with large temperature swings, which can cause buckling if the home is set to minimal heat in winter. We specifically recommend SPC (stone polymer composite) rigid-core LVP for vacation homes and unoccupied properties. The rigid core handles temperature fluctuation far better than standard LVP and stays flat without gaps or lifting.
Premium LVP today is a very different product from what it was a decade ago. Wide-plank formats, realistic embossed grain textures, and matte finishes look nearly identical to hardwood, both in person and in photos. For vacation rental listings on Airbnb or VRBO, premium LVP photographs just as well as hardwood and holds up to rental traffic year after year without refinishing. It's a legitimate luxury product, not a budget substitute.
Yes. We serve Heber City, Midway, and all of Wasatch County. The Heber Valley has the same conditions as Park City: high-altitude mountain homes, second properties, and vacation rentals where low-maintenance, waterproof flooring is the smart choice. We treat every job there the same as any job on the Wasatch Front.
